WHAT'S IN A NAME?
For centuries and across cultures, the term “being at a crossroads” has meant being at a critical juncture.
But the crossroads also has a second meaning, in which it is understood as a place between the worlds where communication can happen.
At Crossroads Insights, we embrace both meanings. Whether your organization is at a critical juncture or needs help building connectivity to work your best, Crossroads Insights can help. We partner with NGOs, philanthropies, and other c3 and c4 nonprofits to provide strategic guidance at the nexus of philanthropy, communications, and creating the collaborative enterprise—all with the purpose of strengthening your organization for durable success.

Jeff Muller
Founder & Chief Strategist
For the past twenty years, Jeff Muller has worked at the nexus of philanthropy and communications for organizations of all sizes, from small regional nonprofits to international NGOs. Much of this time has been spent helping build the relationships to raise hundreds of millions of dollars that support transformative programs across the United States and around the world.
Most recently, he was Senior Director of Donor Relations for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) where he was brought in to create a cutting-edge donor relations program and support a $1 billion comprehensive campaign. NRDC is one of the countries’ largest environmental advocacy organizations, with 3 million members and an annual budget of $200 million. For the decade prior, Jeff built and led the Donor Communications & Stewardship team at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), supporting multiple campaigns, including a $200 million campaign to save tigers in the wild, a leveraged $43 million campaign to permanently protect half of Bhutan, and a $30 million multi-institution campaign to save the Sumatran rhino. With 1.2 million members and an annual budget of $250 million, WWF is one of the most influential conservation organizations in the world. Earlier in his career, Jeff led communications for a capital campaign to build a new nature center and helped increase funding for the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to his work experience, Jeff has been a frequent presenter on topics related to philanthropy and communications. He spent six years on the board of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals with one term as Secretary/Treasurer. During his tenure, he helped transition the board to a new governance model and led the development of the organization’s first investment strategy. Jeff earned his B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and has a certificate in Inclusive Leadership from the University of Colorado. |
